No, it's too harsh. If you want to have a different color underneath, (and I myself like that effect), then go for a warm, dark, or medium brown.

i think with longer hair it looks good. like shoulder length at least because then you get peeps of the black that hang and mix with the blonde parts..

Mmm... I wouldn't do it. It'll most likely give you skunk hair. You can get brown underneath and blonde on top, but black won't look good. Or if you still want black underneath, dye the rest brown. But if you want something really fun and new, dye it red.
