Ok so my black hair now has a blue tint to it and I just want it completely black should I just go bye more black hair dye. I don't want to go to a pro so what should I do to get rid of the blue tint

I know a lot of people are saying it might just be the lighting. But think about it this way do you want it looking blue inside either? School, work, shopping, etc.... It will always look blue inside. However they are right many look blue inside and black outside.

Likely not much you can do. Be careful some brands tend to be slightly blue. I would recommend a very dark brown instead it looks more natural. And yes you can try it again but the color may not change very much. Worth a try though, however do not dye more than twice in the week it will severely damage your hair if you do.

Go out in the sunshine and see if perhaps it is just appearing blue in indoor lighting. If not : Dye it again.

it sounds like you dyed it with blue-tinted black hair dye. you have to try to find the ones with brown undertones, and it will turn out looking black-black. usually these are the ones with the black person on the box.

try using a brown black next tie, because most black dyes contain blue tones. My bf had the same problem, but the brown black will cover over that blue tint when your in the sun and light.

wash your hair with conditioner and hot water then put some frutis shine and leave it in all night then in the morning rinse it out with hot water again it should only take one time for this to go to black.

I am so sorry..this is such a difficult thing ~#1 it depends on how long your hair is, how thick, if you had hair product in it, if you followed the directions, etc. I'm going to go out on the limb here and say get another box of dye and go for it again, after you SUPER wash your hair with a shampoo that removes a lot of dye products (i.e. SUAVE plain and simple) wash it, condition it, let it rest for a day, no hair products in between!! If you do you are already messing with the chemicals in your hair and scalp and the product will probably not take...I have had the same prob from going from blonde to red to brown and back to blonde~so I know! Black hair dye has a blue base. Dyeing it a second time will only add to the blue look. Depending on your natural hair color and the product you use...blue undertones can indeed be the result. Try shampooing it. Hopefully a few shampoos will settle it down.

you probably used Blue black hair dye. I did it too. Just redye your hair and use jet black next time.

Since your hair was blonde it did not absorb all of the dye, just like when a person with black hair tries to go blonde but ends up with red hair. You have to dye your hair in steps. Go get more dye and dye it again and if that doesn't work do it one more time then it should be black.

There is such a thing as "Blue Black" color hair dye. It's black with a cool blue undertone. I would re dye it with a true black or a charcoal black.

Yikes! All the stuff people say! The professionals are right. To explain it a little more though, so you understand better. You dyed black over blonde. That is going to make the base color ...blue...come through more than the black. If by chance you bleached your hair blonde before dyeing it black makes it even worse,cause it won't hold the black and the blue is going to fade to a grayish color shortly, no matter what you do.

I know you don't want to go to the pro's but my dear you have messed up your hair and now you NEED to go to a pro. Or shave it down and regrow. As you have now found out color can be tricky and best to leave to the pros. Just make sure you find one you feel comfy with and you feel is on the same page as you.

well if you hair was blonde and u went to black its probably going to take it a few times o dying it to get your hair to acceot the color. its just like coloring. you have to press down harder to get the color to be the way you want it. you will have to dye it a few few more times to get it to stay and look black.

Black Color is composed of all three primaries... mostly BLUE... this is what you see, so I believe your hair is indeed blue. what happens when you go light to dark... is your hair needs to be "filled" meaning... you cannot just go dark in a single process. Your hair's cuticle is empty. You need to fill it, then color it so that your desired color has something to grab onto. I would have recommended filling your hair with a deep chestnut brown to give your hair warmth, and then the black... This would have avoided the blue.... BUT... it's ok...... Buy your desired color again, and simply do it again..... Your hair now has something to hold on to......... and it will stay this time. Promise.
