Bleaching my hair blonde! please help?

Ok so my hair is dark brown and i really want it platinum blonde, that would mean i have to bleach it? And if so, then i will go to the hairdressers to do it professionaly! But if i keep getting my roots done, will my hair fall out or break off?

Girl don't do this unless you are absolutely desperate for bleached hair. It takes sooo much damage on your hair. Try to go for a darker shade of blonde first and see how you like it! That's my best advice to you!

The damage is insane, you're gonna have dry and frizzy hair!

Good luck on whatever you decide!

If you keep bleaching your hair too often it might. They might have you do it at different times, they may bleach it once or so (it won't be platinum blonde yet) then have you wait a while and bleach it even lighter. Bleaching your hair is extremely damaging to it. But if you are 100% sure you want to try it, go get it done professionally and buy a salon quality shampoo and conditioner to help with the damage. They'll tell you the same.

For you to go from dark brown to platinum is huge!! I am a stylist and i know that is a huge process.. why dont you try a heavy foil and if you dont like it them you can color your hair brown again if you do your whole head blonde you could risk your hair breaking off and getting mushy.. They have to reaply the bleach many many times to get to platinum thats alot for your hair to go through.. If you do heavy foil it your regrowth will be the only thing that gets recolored so you shouldnt end up with any damage good luck!!!

I know this sounds like such a great idea but to do this and have a good blond and healthy hair you must commit to it. That means several hours every 4-6 weeks at the salon and hundreds of dollars. If you can not commit to that then this really is not the best choice for you. Perhaps you should consider having your hair lightened several levels and then highlighted through. They grow out will be less noticeable and the maintenance not as bad. Best of luck. Lulu's non-professional advise is going to get your orange mush for hair. Not cool.

okay i know everyone gets all scared when bleach is mentioned but it's really not that bad. at least for me. i've bleached my hair a bunch of times and then dyed it some crazy colours. i also flat iron my hair and have been doing so for the last 4 years - every day.

and i must say that my hair is not in terrible condition. i get split ends just like everyone else, but my hair never started to fall out of get terribly frizzy. (i do have naturally curly hair, and that's why i straighten it, so.)

anyway i got it done at the hairdresser sometimes and did it at home sometimes.

i would recommend getting it done at the hairdresser and as long as you go back to get your roots done, they will only dye the roots, which is good, because rebleaching already bleached hair is unnecessary and potentially damaging if you do it a lot.

you can get really platinum blonde hair dye at the drugstore but if it isnt made with some sort of bleaching agent, it will only turn your dark brown hair a bit lighter.

also, if you do bleach your hair and later decide to go red or a rich dark brown, it will take really well as bleached hair is porous.

so if you end up hating it, it's easy to go back.

(but i know how you feel with wanting a drastic and wickedcool change.)

talk to your hairdresser about it and get her to assess your hair and make sure everything's okay regardless.

hope that helps.

good luck :)

ive done this a few times from black to blonde and back to brown and now going back to blonde

its easiest to do a color remover

the best kind is at sally beauty supply and comes with a netrualizer so your not left with that annoying orange color

[you might have to do it twice]

its a lot less harmful on your hair than bleach

but if you insist on bleaching it get a good conditioner

make sure the first ingredient isnt water

if you want your hair to be back to normal faster sleep with it a night or two in a shower cap otherwise just try to put it in your hair atleast 30 minutes everyday for a week in about a months time it should be normal if not better

i also recomend using a hot oil treatment once a month to help

and NO your hair will not fall out

its new hair growing out for your roots itll be the first time its getting touched by dye or bleach

go to sally beauty supply and just ask for the deep conditioner youll be fine!

i am a hairstylist and suggest that you dnt do that because it will leave your hair in really bad shape first of all , and please do not do it yourself if you want to keep your hair .
